Lena Gercke was born on February 29th 1988 in Marburg, Germany. She is a German Castingshow-Star from Cloppenburg nearby Oldenburg, Germany. She became famous when she won the first season of the Model-Castingshow “Germany’s Next Topmodel” by ProSieben. It was moderated by Supermodel Heidi Klum. Lena Gercke was often referred to as Lena G.. Germany’s Next Topmodel is based on Tyra Banks’ Show “America’s Next Topmodel”. Since it has been screened for the first time in 2003 many TV stations copied the concept worldwide. Germany’s Next Topmodel’s first season was screened in 2006. As the first season was a major success and gained loads of media attention, ProSieben will launch a second season this year (2007). She was first sighted on 14. August 2004 in Cloppenburg by the wedding photographer Christine Langer-Pueschel and her set-up Castings for the Fast-Food-chain Burger King. She was from then on managed by Langer-Pueschel and in connection with that booked as model for Fotoshootings, or as Mannequin for fashion shows, but also for (less frequently) for dance shows. At the beginning of 2006 Lena Gercke took part in the Model-Casting-Show “Germany’s Next Topmodel” by ProSieben. Later on this year (2006), she was declared winner on 29. März 2006. Since then she has been exclusivly working for ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG and their marketing branch Face Your Brand!. She also received the following contracts: * an ad contract with the fashion lavel Oui Set * a model contract with IMG Models * a contract with Cosmopolitan (cover girl june 2006) * an ad contract with Microsoft for the product Windows Live Search She currently still visits school and plans to finish her a-levels this year (2007).

Lena Gercke is Germany's Next Topmodel of 2006. Germany's Next Topmodel is based on Tyra Banks' concept of model casting and its show America's Next Topmodel. It was established 2003 and then due its extreme popularity copied world-wide. Tyra Banks functions as jury member and moderator of the show. Heidi Klum acted as the German counterpart of Tyra Banks and selected one girl out of many to become Germany's Next Topmodel! In addition Heidi Klum acts as coach and mentor for the girls trying to prepare them for the everyday life of a top model.
