Lena writes on her blog that she had meet the new candids for the upcoming series of Germanys next topmodel. She says that the new candids are THE BOMB! Whow, and that the jury won’t have an easy go this time. She says that she does not want to be juror because of this, and that the atmoshpere is very tense already. She says that with disicpline and hard will one can accomplish everything, and that one should listen to the jury’s remarks, as they are good advice. The german show will start on march 1st, at 20.15 on ProSieben, so get your satellites tuned for that!

Lena tries to establish her name in America only 7 months after winning Germanys next topmodel. She was present at Heidi Klum’s famous “Halloween Party”, where Lena was disguised as “Heidi” :) Quite a funny idea, actually! There are pictures of here in the picture gallery! Before the party, Lena asked Heidi for advice concerning her upcoming model casting for the dessous label “Victoria’s Secret”. After this very pleasant stay, she jetted over to NEW YORK, where she had the mentioned above casting. She also visited Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Tom Clayton, various photographs/journalists, Barbara Laurie, Jump Management and John Pfeiffer.

On her blog, Lena writes that she has been at Prix de Beauté in Wiesbaden, Germany. Prix de Beute is some kind of an Oscar of the beauty world and will only be given away from the magazine COSMOPOLITAN. The oscar is given away on the basis of innovation, new design and effectivity. This year 14 were nominated. The Who is Who of the Beauty-world was present. Thus I was invited by COSMOPOLITAN for whom I already had two cover-shoots. It was an amazing evening and people from Chanel to Clinique and Prada to L’Oréal were present. After the awards there was a dinner, and a party at which I got to meet Yvonne and Jenni. We partied all evening and I was lucky to not have to stand up early :) Pictures to follow (on here)

Since Tuesday I am in Munich for a two-day shooting and a TV-spot for WINDOWS LIVE! On Wednesday I took part in a spot in a flat in Munich city. In total a six of settings were done. That’s quite a lot, I find. On the next day I had to start at 8 in the morning , styling, make-up, tests, light testing, camera movement… everything had to be done quickly. I had to jump around with Highheels (ouch, it hurts) and become a fury throwing around with cloths. You will probably seen me on VIVA (german music channel) soon :) The spot is for the “VJ of the day”, and you can apply using the new MSN messenger! But now I have to leave again for a photoshooting, pictures to come! Source: Lena live! lena

On the 23th of November the Privat-Bank of Sal. Oppenheim invited me to a beneficial-horse riding tournament. ME and horse riding?! That did not really fit well, because I am afraid of horses! But anyway, for charity sake, I agreed and even settled an Island pony … Of course, race wise, I finished last. Never mind. What counts is that I was able to help the “Kinderschutzbund” and arrived safely at the finish line.

Lena Gercke is Germany's Next Topmodel of 2006. Germany's Next Topmodel is based on Tyra Banks' concept of model casting and its show America's Next Topmodel. It was established 2003 and then due its extreme popularity copied world-wide. Tyra Banks functions as jury member and moderator of the show. Heidi Klum acted as the German counterpart of Tyra Banks and selected one girl out of many to become Germany's Next Topmodel! In addition Heidi Klum acts as coach and mentor for the girls trying to prepare them for the everyday life of a top model.

The (currently) 18-year old Lena Gercke (also known as Lena G) is from Oldenburg, Germany and celebrates her birthday on February 29th. She became famous to the media due to winning the popular model casting-show "Germany's Next Topmodel". She trumps with her naterual beauty, her all-day happy attitude and her sweet smile. With the measurements of 90-66-89, a weight of 110 pounds and a height of 5,83 feet she looks similar to the show's host Heidi Klum. Lena Gercke works for IMG Models, Microsoft (Live!) and is occasionally featured in the Cosmopolitan. She currently still visits school and plans to finish her a-levels this year (2007).
